Peter Sheppard started out on his career path with the ambition of working in film, TV and video production. Having completed a formal education in this area and doing work experience with the BBC he then had to pay the bills and so got a job in the IT industry with NTL:Telewest (now Virgin Media) to pass the time. This developed into his primary career and since then he has managed major projects for Capita: National Strategies and a top 10 NMA rated digital agency as part of WPP group. He also founded the video proposition at that digital agency and produced an award winning video for HSBC, amongst plenty of other projects. He has also produced and directed a number of private video projects as a freelance in his spare time, including working with artists like Kele Le Roc and Patrick Muldoon.
He is now the Managing Director of Siteset Digital, a Digital Agency in the UK, charged with growing this small company into a bigger player in the market place and using his varied knowledge of the industry to consult with clients about their future digital presence. One of their biggest focusses at the moment is evolving their in house CMS to be something that serves the modern internet in a way that most others don’t currently do.
Over the years he has worked delivering digital projects across continents for some of the largest brands in the world, across mobile, applications and web and in many different areas. Prior to working with Digital he ran IT projects, integrating data systems, optimising business processes and workflow and managing data reporting nationwide. Along the way he has been lucky enough to gain industry recognition by winning awards for some of the projects he has delivered.
He specialises in user centered design and is fascinated by the development of mobile experiences and the affect of social media (which he refers to often as ‘network media’) on our lives today. Although predominantly a project manager by tradition, he keeps his hand in with both IA and UX and as a designer.
Away from work he is a freelance photographer & videographer, sometime writer and a dreamer, as well as a minor sci-fi geek.
